Spirulina is a highly nutritious superfood with many health benefits, it's rich in protein and various minerals that help to boost the immune system. It also happens to be rather hard to find in many places unless you order online. The powdery substance is basically an algae which means it does not taste good either. Most people consume Spirulina as capsules instead of mixing it into food.
I've been adding Spirulina powder that I bought in one of my Bali trips to smoothies. As the taste IS very overpowering I usually blend it with fruits that have equally overpowering taste such as banana. In this version I added my favourite red dragon fruit and also soy milk to make a big glass of smoothie for breakfast. This taste as good as it looks!
